Abundant giver if allowed to grow at least half a metre high before picking. Grows to 1.5 metres high, with 3 or 4 branches beginning from ground level. Tasty medium to large leaves with very slight mustard flavour. Young tender leaves can be eaten in salad, older leaves as a cooked green, Gave heaps away to happy neighbours and friends. Four plants appears to be enough for a family if allowed to establish. Grew through late autumn, winter and early spring. Went to seed when weather warmed up. Very abundant seed giver.
Said to grow for a second year if cut back and roots left in. Haven’t tried this as my garden too small.
